Zum 05.03.2019 ändert Marriott Bonvoy bei zahlreichen Hotels die Anzahl der für eine Freinacht benötigten Punkte. Die Anpassung der Marriott Bonvoy Kategorien im März 2019 führt nicht nur zur Verschiebungen einiger Hotels, es wird nun auch die neue Kategorie 8 eingeführt.
Marriott Bonvoy
Marriott Bonvoy ist der neue Name des gemeinsamen Gästeprogramms von (ehemals) Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), Marriott Rewards und Ritz-Carlton Rewards.
Wir hatten Euch in unserem Artikel vom 17.01.2019 über das neue Programm informiert. Gleichwohl nachfolgend noch einmal die wesentlichen Punkte. Offiziell gibt es seit wenigen Stunden Marriott Bonvoy als gemeinsames Programm.
Das neue Marriott Bonvoy Programm verfügt über vier Elite Statusstufen.
- Base
- Gold (25 Nächte)
- Platinum Elite (50 Nächte)
- Titanium Elite (75 Nächte)
- Ambassador Elite (100 Nächte und 20.000 USD Umsatz im Kalenderjahr)
Die Hotels unterteilen sich in acht Kategorien und hier noch einmal in eine reguläre Saison sowie Nebensaison und Hochsaison.

Die höchste Stufe 8 wird erst zum 05.03.2019 eingeführt. Bis dahin habt Ihr noch Zeit nach der alten Awardtabelle zu buchen.

Anpassung der Marriott Bonvoy Kategorien im März 2019
Bezogen auf die Anzahl der Hotels halten sich die Änderungen in Grenzen. Im Rahmen der jetzigen Anpassungen werden 1.853 Hotels neu eingestuft. Hiervon werden 37 Hotels herabgestuft und 1.816 Hotels heraufgestuft. Somit werden von den Hotels, die angepasst werden 98% teurer. Eine Übersicht findet Ihr auch auf der Marriott Homepage.

Deutschland und Europa
In Deutschland ist von den Veränderungen nur das Sheraton München Westpark betroffen, dass zudem in eine niedrigere Kategorie wechselt. In Wien wechselt das zur Luxury Collection gehörenden Bristol sowie das Renaissance Imperial Reitschule in eine niedrigere Kategorie. Auch das Sheraton Neues Schloss in Zürich wechselt in eine niedrige Kategorie. Dafür wird das Renaissance Amsterdam teurer.

Positiv hervorzuheben ist, dass auch das Westin Dublin in eine niedrigere Kategorie wechselt. Dahingegen wird das Westin Europa & Regina demnächst in der teuersten Kategorie 8 zu buchen sein. Gleiches gilt für das EDITION London.
Rest der Welt
Außerhalb Europas ist darauf hinzuweisen, dass das aloft Kuala Lumpur demnächst nicht mehr in der niedrigsten Kategorie zu finden ist. Das W Hong Kong wechselt gleichfalls in die höchste Kategorie 8. Günstiger wird allerdings das zur Luxury Collection gehörende The Naka Island in Thailand. Auch das das Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort wird günstiger.
Fazit
Es ist nie schön, wenn etwas teuer wird. Leider lässt sich dies aber nicht immer vermeiden. Wie auch die regulären Raten sind Raten mit Punkten Schwankungen unterworfen. Daher ist es unvermeidlich, dass auch die Anzahl der benötigen Punkte höher werden. Die Änderungen halten sich aber meines Erachtens noch im Rahmen. Hierbei stelle ich auf die Gesamtsumme aller Hotels im gemeinsamen Portofolio aller Marken ab. Zudem halte ich viele der Änderungen auch für gerechtfertigt.
Die Anpassung der Marriott Bonvoy Kategorien im März 2019 ist mit einem Vorlauf von gut drei Wochen kommuniziert worden. Somit habt Ihr noch Zeit zu den alten Bedingungen zu buchen.
